Portrait of an Artist, 12×16, Soft Pastel on Board, 1/21/2012

This portrait was done at the Palette & Chisel (in the Gold Coast Neighborhood of Chicago, IL) and is of a young woman that a later saw attending one of the other drawing groups. At the time I had no idea she was an artist, and I did not realize that she was until I saw her again at the Palette.

I’ve been leaning towards more natural skin tones lately, and this portrait has a tritone color feel to it with the predominate colors being pink, grey, and tan.
