Portrait of Jill

Commission in Wilmette, Illinois

Painted portrait of a beautiful from Wilmette, Illinois

A commissioned portrait done in Wilmette, Illinois

A portrait of a beautiful woman in both appearance and character whose style is matched in class and creativity only by her personality. The magenta highlights in her beret are repeated in the outline that radiates around the crown of her head. She is a majestic woman who is gazing outward patiently waiting for something. The blue, pink, and yellow palette alludes to the femininity of the subject.

The brushwork in this piece is interesting. The manner that the background and shadows in the background are painted are somewhat unorthodox in how the lighter values are painted as a wash over the dark surface, and the broad strokes of light blue in the clothing is very gestural as is the yellow brushwork in the hair. It is a lively piece representing an equally lively and lovely woman.
