The Pastel Society of the Southwest Held the opening reception and award ceremony this past weekend, and I am proud to announce that the pastel portrait I submitted “Vlk” was selected for the Portrait/Figure Award!
I exhibited two artworks at the Starline Gallery’s Grand Finale Masquerade Ball in Late October, which wraps up their 2013 exhibition lineup, and I am proud to announce that I won an honorable mention in the show. 2 of my works were accepted, a portrait in soft pastels entitled “Jessica” and the award winner a figurative study done in soft pastel entitled “Kay”.
Jordan has posed for us at the open figure sessions many times with good reason; She is a great model with natural poise and grace. Here are various drawings and paintings I have made of her over the years in three different mediums, acrylic paint, oil pastel, and my most often used medium soft pastel.
Jesse in Yellow and Grey was done at the Palette and Chisel on a Saturday morning during one of their long pose sessions. That morning she was posing clothed, wearing a grey long sleeved shirt.
